Charissa Potts is Principal Attorney at FLPC. She was recently named to the prestigious American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) 2019 “40 under 40” class of top bankruptcy practitioners nationwide. She is board-certified by the American Board of Certification. As a natural problem solver, she excels at finding solutions to the most complicated financial problems of consumers and small businesses.  After helping hundreds of clients solve debt-related matters she is one of the most respected bankruptcy attorneys in the Detroit area.

Mark E. Stern adds over forty years of legal experience to our team. Mr. Stern sees clients at our downriver location in Wyandotte, and his practice areas include bankruptcy and Social Security Disability. Before joining the Freedom Law team, Mr. Stern ran his own successful practice in Wyandotte, Stern and Ortner, for over 30 years.

Brandy Bishop
Legal Case Manager

Brandy Bishop is the Legal Case Manager at FLPC. She’s an expert in client matters and can get results in a way that sometimes seems like magic. She is deeply committed to FLPC’s clients because she has been with the firm since day 1 of its existence! She is the point person for clients if there are questions or concerns and they need an answer now. She started her legal career at a collections firm, but she has worked exclusively in bankruptcy matters for over a decade. Brandy is a people person and cares deeply for all our clients. As a problem solver, Brandy deals with all the stressful situations for our clients so they can focus on other things.

Brandy is our resident expert in tax-related matters. She regularly attends workshops, seminars, and courses on tax law to keep her skills and knowledge current. 

Shannon DeWitt

Shannon DeWitt is a Client Specialist at FLPC. Shannon considers herself first and foremost a human rights activist who believes every person should be treated with dignity and respect. Shannon is often the first person our clients interact with when they visit or call our office. She ensures every client file is processed in a highly efficient and timely manner, and that every client feels comfortable and “at home” at our office. She is a dedicated, experienced, and reliable part of the FLPC team. Consistently going the extra mile, she is always looking for opportunities to improve her own skills and the operations of the entire office.
